The National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia issued and put into circulation new collector coins
The National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia issued and put into circulation the collector coins "Year of the Dog – Wealthy Year of the Dog", "Year of the Dog – Safe Year of the Dog", "Russian Labyrinth", "50 Years of the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts" (Official Gazette of the Republic of Macedonia No. 90/17 and 118/17).
The collector coin "Year of the Dog – Wealthy Year of the Dog" has the following features:
- On the obverse, in the center of the coin, there is the Republic of Macedonia coat of arms and the year of the coin issue - "2018". Around the coin (along the perimeter), there are inscriptions in the Macedonian language: "Republic of Macedonia" and "100 Denars".
- On the reverse, in the center of the coin, there is a colored image of a dog pulling a two-wheel carriage filled with gold coins. On the background, there are leaves of clovers. Above the central image of the coin, there is an inscription: "WEALTHY YEAR OF THE DOG" in English.
The collector coin "Year of the Dog – Safe Year of the Dog" has the following features:
- On the obverse, in the center of the coin, there is the Republic of Macedonia coat of arms and the year of the coin issue - "2018". Around the coin (along the perimeter), there are inscriptions in the Macedonian language: "Republic of Macedonia" and "100 Denars".
- On the reverse, in the center of the coin, there is a colored image of a dog presented as a house defender – a dog embracing a house. Above the house, there are stars Sun and Moon in the sky. At the top of the coin reverse (along the perimeter), there is an inscription "SAFE YEAR OF THE DOG" in English.
These collector coins are made of silver Ag925, weight Ag – 28.28g, fine silver content – 26.16g, in a circular form and dimension of 38.61mm.
The price of the collector coins "Year of the Dog – Wealthy Year of the Dog " and "Year of the Dog – Safe Year of the Dog" is MKD 3,200.00.
The collector coin "Russian Labyrinth" has the following features:
- On the obverse, in the centre of the coin, there is a labyrinth with two holes throughout the coin. In the upper part of the obverse, there is a coat of arms of the Republic of Macedonia, and below the coat of arms - the year of issue - "2017". Around the coin, there are inscriptions: "Republic of Macedonia" and "100 Denars" (in Macedonian) and the Latin sentence "PER ASPERA AD ASTRA" (meaning "through hardships to the stars").
- On the reverse, in the central part of the coin, there is a picture of the labyrinth from the Lower Garden in Peterhof (Russia) with a fountain in the centre, and the palace of Peterhof in the background. On both sides of the labyrinth, there are portraits. On the left hand side, there is a statue of Peter the Great who founded the Peterhof labyrinth, and on the right hand side – a statue of Anna Ioannovna, who continued the work of Peter the Great. In the central part of the coin, there is an inscription "RUSSIAN LABYRINTH". There are also inscriptions: "Peter the Great" and "Anna Ioannovna" (around the coin, along the perimeter), and a hallmark "Ag925" at the bottom of the coin.
This collector coin is made of silver Ag925, weight Ag – 50.45g, fine silver content – 46.67g, in a circular form and dimension of 47.00mm.
The price of the collector coin "Russian Labyrinth" is MKD 4,300.00.
The collector coin "50 Years of the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts" has the following features:
- On the obverse, the upper part of the coin presents the coat of arms of the Republic of Macedonia and the inscription "Republic of Macedonia" in the Macedonian language. The central part of the coin contains the inscriptions: "1967-2017. 50 years" and the number 50, where in the center, there is the logo of the "Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts. Skopje”. At the bottom of the coin, there are the inscriptions: "100 denars" and the year of publication - "2017".
- On the reverse, the central part of the coin depicts the building of the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts, and underneath there are the inscriptions "1967-2017" and "Ag925". Along the perimeter of the coin, there is the inscription: "Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts Skopje" in the Macedonian language.
This collector coin is made of silver Ag925, weight Ag – 28.28g, fine silver content – 26.16g, in a circular form and dimension of 38.61mm.
The price of the collector coin "50 Years of the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts" is MKD 2,500.00.
The collector coins issued by the National Bank are a legal tender in the Republic of Macedonia.
