Governor Bogov Chaired an Annual Meeting of the Governing Board of the Regional International Organization CEF
Skopje, May 9, 2018 – High level representatives from ministries of finance and central banks from six countries from South East Europe convened at the National Bank of Macedonia for the annual meeting of the Governing Board of the Center of Excellence in Finance (CEF). CEF is international organization based in Ljubljana, Slovenia with the mission to support capacity development for finance officials in South East Europe through learning. Governor of the National Bank of Macedonia Dimitar Bogov was chairing the CEF Governing Board for the past year.
The CEF is a leading learning institution in South East Europe (SEE) that offers high-quality and relevant learning program for governments’ finance officials. CEF annually carries out around 60 learning events from the areas of public financial management, tax policy and administration, central banking, and leadership for managing reforms. In addition, the CEF implements two in-country certification programs for public internal auditors and accountants in Montenegro and for public accountants in Serbia. The events are attended by more than 1,200 public officials from ministries of finance, central banks and other public institutions from across SEE.
Members of the CEF Governing Board are ministers of finance and central bank governors of the CEF member countries: Albania, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania and Slovenia. These are the countries that ratified or acceded to the Agreement on Establishing the CEF as International Organization while the CEF altogether serves beneficiary institutions from 12 countries from across SEE.
Governing Board is a decision making body of the CEF that decides about CEF program and strategy. At the meeting, the Board confirmed the annual report of the CEF for 2017 and reviewed governance and program topics. Mr. Dimitar Bogov, governor of the National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia, handed over the rotating chairmanship of the CEF Governing Board to Mr. Vladimir Munteanu, First Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Moldova.
