Transparency and responsibility are fundamental of our work - they guarantee the trust and integrity of the National Bank. The public trust in our capacity to deliver macroeconomic and financial stability is sine qua non of our success. This was stated at the beginning of the annual Journalist’s Workshop hosted by the National Bank yesterday.
Governor Angelovska Bezhoska addressed the Journalist’s workshop. ”The rule of just having communication does not longer stand for modern central banks, but having good and open communication with public”, she said.

The workshop was focused on central banking statistics. The recently launched web portal NBStat was presented through specific examples of generating statistics. The second half of the workshop was dedicated to new data on payment transactions with credit cards. The closing discussion was focused on foreign direct investment data followed by discussion on the National Bank public communication practices, where some of the participants stated their views, remarks and recommendations.

The workshop was attended by over thirty journalists from economic editorial staff.
The National Bank will continue strengthening its transparency and upgrading public communication. The 2020 Program includes a project on further upgrading of availability and understanding statements, information, data and analysis.
