Resurgence of Inflation and the New Geopolitical Realities, Redesigning Macroeconomic Policy is the topic of the ninth international research conference organized this year by the National Bank in cooperation with the Reinventing Bretton Woods Committee.
The conference will be opened by the President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, and the leaders of the organizing institutions, Governor Anita Angelovska Bezhoska, and Marc Uzan, Executive Director of the Reinventing Bretton Woods Committee. The Director of the European Department at the International Monetary Fund, Alfred Kammer, will also address the conference.
Following the current trends and the need for scientific contribution, this year’s conference will touch on several topics, among which, the future movements of macroeconomic policy, strategic autonomy and fragmentation in the context of central banking, as well as the regional perspective for EU membership in the new global environment. The conference will also welcome the governors of Lithuania, Armenia, Slovenia, Croatia and Albania, the alternate member of the Governing Board of the Swiss National Bank, the vice-governor of the National Bank of Belgium, senior representatives of the World Bank, the European Commission, EIB, EBRD, BIS as well as distinguished representatives of academia.
This National Bank research conference has grown into a multi-year tradition that gathers together macroeconomic policymakers, representatives of international institutions and prominent economic analysts who by discussing current topics contribute to further economic development and prosperity, offering new ideas, visions and policies.
