Within the event on financial education organized by the Ministry of Finance of the Netherlands and INFE-OECD, a special question-and-answer session was organized with the Dutch Queen Maxima. Subject matter of the meeting was the importance of financial literacy and financial health of an individual. It takes efforts on the side of policy makers for greater progress, with an important role of financial institutions that provide financial services.
The project funded by the Dutch Ministry of Finance and the INFE-OECD aims to provide support of the countries of IMF and World Bank Constituency, including our country, in the efforts to increase financial literacy which, according to the OECD Survey conducted in our country is similar to the SEU region, yet it is far behind the EU.
“Financial education and inclusion is a process which involves many stakeholders, in order to achieve remarkable results. Our first National Strategy for Financial literacy, which was adopted in 2021, is a good basis for coordination among public and private institutions, as well as non-governmental sector. Analyzing the private and civil sector entities that can contribute to this field, the financial education becomes a part of their social responsibility and an important aspect in building their reputation”, pointed out the Governor Angelovska Bezhoska at the Annual meeting on the Financial Education Project, upon the invitation of the Minister of Finance of the Netherlands and the OECD.
