Skopje, 24 February 2023
Today, the Macedonian Banking Association, in cooperation with the National Bank and the Securities and Exchange Commission, held a virtual event and informed the registered students and their mentors about this year's national and final competition of the European Money Quiz. For the fifth time, our country is part of this important project of the European Banking Federation, intended for financial education of students aged 13 to 15. At the working meeting, mentors from 84 primary and secondary schools from our country, which is the highest number ever, and their students from 177 classes were introduced to all aspects of the competition.
Representatives from the National Bank and the Securities and Exchange Commission gave a brief overview of the educational materials, with a short exercise on the game based learning platform Kahoot on which the competition will take place.
The national competition will have two rounds: the first round will be virtual and the best three teams will be selected, while in the second round, the three best teams will compete live for the national championship title. The first round will be held on 20 March, and the final round which will confirm the two students who will represent our country at the European finals, will be held on 24 March 2023.
This year, after a three-year break of the national championships due to the pandemic, the winning team, together with their mentor, will travel to Brussels, Belgium, on 15 and 16 May 2023, to test their knowledge with the winners from other countries at the grand European final.
