Financial literacy is the foundation for a successful future and a key factor for personal development. In the world we live in, where economic conditions are constantly changing, it is especially important for young generations to be well prepared and informed. When individuals understand how financial instruments and concepts work, they can better manage their resources. These are the messages sent by the Governor of the National Bank, Anita Angelovska Bezhoska and the Minister of Finance, Gordana Dimitrieska Kochoska, on the presentation of the awards from the Competition for art and literary works for elementary and secondary education, on the occasion of the International Savings Day - 31 October.
"It is generally known that without savings there is no investment. This means investing in better health care, education, roads, security, i.e. investing in everything that is important for a better future of the individual, but also of the entire economy. It is a pleasure to see that the young people who participated in the Competition already have their own perceptions about the needs for savings, awareness of the rapid development of finances, especially digital services, as well as the risks they pose. New generations live in a new digital age, where they have access to numerous information, but also numerous opportunities for fraud. The best way to protect themselves from these risks is through appropriate education”, said the Governor Angelovska Bezhoska.
"There were really high-quality works. We received about 700 works from the entire country. The event becomes a wonderful tradition and is an inspiration to motivate ourselves and others how to put finances first, so that together we can build a better financial future for us and for our future generations. Financial literacy is one of the strongest tools that we have at our disposal in order to provide our financial opportunities and to achieve our financial goals, while protecting ourselves from financial risks. Therefore, it is important to set the financial education in the center of our schools, our communities and our lives and to enable since the earliest age acquiring knowledge and skills to build a responsible financial behavior in each phase of life. "It is a long-term process whose effects are not immediately visible, therefore, let us be aware of our financial potential and use it wisely," said the Minister of Finance Gordana Dimitrieska Kochoska.
At the Competition, we received about 700 works that are characterized by quality, creativity and an authentic style of expression, as well as knowledge of the topic of savings, the importance of financial literacy, the advantages and risks in digital financial services.
