Support for the professionalism of the National Bank and the results achieved in dealing with the crisis

The Governor of the National Bank, Anita Angelovska Bezhoska had a meeting with the French ambassador Cyril Bomgartner, who has recently acceded to office in our country. The meeting was also attended by the regional economic advisor, Florence Dobelle. The interlocutors discussed the current macroeconomic situation and the challenges imposed by the covid-crisis. The French ambassador, stressing the role of the central banks in every economy, especially in times of crisis, emphasized the support for the activities and measures taken by our central bank in dealing with the consequences of the crisis, as well as the highly professional approach to the challenges of the new time, successfully achieving the set goals.

The Governor Angelovska Bezhoska explained the latest macroeconomic developments, the latest macroeconomic forecasts, as well as the situation in the banking system. Moreover, she particularly referred to the undertaken measures and their effects, the relaxation of the monetary policy, the performances of the banking system, as well as the specifics of this crisis in terms of other crisis periods, which also imposed a need for increased communication with the public. Special emphasis was placed on the cooperation with the international financial institutions, as well as with the European institutions, including the European Central Bank, not only with respect to the support in dealing with the covid-crisis, but also with respect to the implementation of the current reform projects.

The Governor Angelovska Bezhoska and the French ambassador Bomgartner expressed efforts for continuation and deepening of the cooperation in the future.
