Continuous and timely publication of quality statistic data even in specific circumstances imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic is crucial for the economy, especially for making appropriate decisions by economic entities and proper determining of policies and measures. Despite the COVID crisis, the National Bank continues to make significant progress in the field of statistics, making key efforts to implement the highest and latest international standards.
These are some of the assessments presented at the meeting of the National Bank and the Ministry of Finance teams with the team of the Statistics Department of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), within the Annual Meetings of the IMF and the World Bank.

At the meeting, the joint projects undertaken so far and the activities planned for the next period were discussed. A special emphasize was put on the progress that he National Bank made also through achieving the highest global statistical data dissemination standard - SDDS plus. The National Bank efforts, this month starting with regular publication of new and more detailed data on residents' investments in foreign securities, were mentioned separately, indicating the plans for the first publication of new data on financial accounts by the end of the year, which is in accordance with the latest standards.
The cooperation between the expert teams of the IMF and the National Bank was assessed excellent, which is a ground for more joint projects in the future.
