In this context, the bank has recently included the goals for monitoring and managing climate change risks, focusing on analyzing the impact of climate change risks on the banking system, and on the role of the banking system to support sustainable development, which, inter alia, is based on a "green economy". These activities make sure that the National Bank contributes to a "green" and sustainable economy, which would ultimately provide a higher standard of living and improve the quality of life for its citizens.
The UN Resident Coordinator informed about the technical support provided by UN to the country in developing a nationally owned and consultative methodology for formulation of National Development Strategy 2021-2041. She expressed hope that the National Bank will be actively involved in the formulation of the strategy when the consultation process starts.
