The World Bank Financial Sector Advisory Center (FinSAC) prepared a study on financial sustainability assessment, in which experts from the National Bank took part as well and which was presented to the team led by the Governor Anita Angelovska Bezhoska and the Vice Governors Ana Mitreska and Fadil Bajrami, as well as to the World Bank delegation led by the Manager of the World Bank Office in the country, Massimiliano Paolucci.
This comprehensive study gives deeper insight of the financial state of our corporate sector. The key findings highlight the corporate sustainability trends, the effect of the economic shocks such as COVID-19 and financial stability of companies by individual sector in economy. The study refers to the credit risk analysis in the context of financial debt repayment capacity of companies, including guidelines for further National Bank’s monitoring of the developments and the possible risks to the banking system. By using a new analytical tool, which is at the National Bank’s disposal, such analyses could be done systemically, thus strengthening the National Bank capacity in the area of supervision and financial stability.
The Governor Angelovska Bezhoska and Paolucci emphasized the need for further successful partnership and cooperation between the National Bank and the World Bank to further strengthen the pillars of the financial system in the country and efforts for sustainable economic growth.
