Launch of a new EU funded statistical web portal.
As of today, official statistical data produced by the National Bank will be available to the users at the new statistical web portal NBStat. It is a new, modern statistical tool created using advanced ICT tools and modern interactive communication channels. Thus we abandon the current practice of publishing data as excel documents in the Statistics section at the National Bank website. From now on, the National Bank statistics will be published only at the new statistical web portal.
With the launch of the NBStat, our central bank has joined the European family of authorized bearers of statistical surveys who, as recommended by Eurostat and the European Statistical System, and considering the trends of open data, use one of the most modern ways of disseminating statistical data - a statistical tool in the form of a PX web solution. The NBStat structure and technical functions for access to data will supply users with contemporary tools for advanced and simplified use of central bank statistics.
It is also important that this new sophisticated statistical tool will make the National Bank statistics part of the new European Data Space - a concept that requires statistics to be presented in a clear and comprehensible form.
The NBStat tool, available at the National Bank website, will not only provide access to the new, but also to the previously published statistical data under National Bank jurisdiction, yet in a way that is completely different and more modern than the current one - a way that will allow researchers, academic community, journalists and policy makers to download data in the form and scope that best suits their needs.
Besides standard monitoring of the central bank statistics, a particularly significant benefit from the launching of this National Bank statistical web portal is that it will allow users to filter data and prepare time series, and to present them in multiple forms of visualization, as well as download them in various formats. This significantly expands the possibilities for data analysis by external users.
This statistical tool was established through an everyday, multiyear commitment of the dedicated National Bank team, once the European Union provided financial, professional and technical assistance to the IPA2012 project “Building Tools for Internal Data Analysis and a Statistical Internet Web Portal for External Users”.
Supported by the European Union, our central bank has been one of the central banks that has launched such a modern statistical web portal with sophisticated and advanced functions for the users, which is a modern platform for data analysis.
The users of this new statistical web portal are welcome to visit and make use of the National Bank website where we have posted the user guide for this tool.
