Digitalization brings many advantages, but also threats related to cyber security. We are witnesses that everywhere in the world there are cases of frauds related to the use of digital services, therefore it is important for citizens when using the tools for online financial products and services, to know how to protect their data, and thus their identity and property against possible misuse.
The National Bank acts proactively, through the financial education it carries out, contributing to raising the public awareness about the possible threats of sharing personal data through digital channels and gives advice to citizens about how they should use the benefits of digitalization, while be safe. In the European month of cyber security - October, the National Bank in order to explain the risks, as well as the precautionary measures that citizens need to take in order to mitigate or remove the undesirable consequences, published a booklet Security when using digital financial products and services which can be seen on the following link.
The booklet explains in a systematized way several recommendations for the safe use of digital financial products and services. Citizens can find more information about the digital financial channels and services they have at their disposal (payment card payment over the Internet, e-banking, mobile phone payment, online credit), about the recommendations how to protect themselves when using these services, how to protect their devices and their personal data, as well as about what they need to do if they suspect online fraud.
