The participants, aged 13 to 15, measured their knowledge of personal finance with a special focus on long-term planning, savings, cryptocurrencies, cyber security, online fraud, as well as credit and income management. The questions were prepared according to INFE-OECD guidelines and Core Competencies Framework on Youth Financial Literacy. Оur country was represented by Kiril Kitevski and Kristijan Lazaroski from “Mite Bogoevski" elementary school from Resen, under the mentorship of Sonja Strezovska, who secured their participation in the European Money Quiz in Brussels by winning the national competition organized by the Macedonian Banking Association in cooperation with the National Bank and the Securities and Exchange Commission, supported by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance. Our representatives showed solid knowledge, thus continuing the series of successful representation of young people from our country at this European quiz in the field of financial education. Considering the participation of nearly 800 students from our country in the national competition, this initiative obviously makes a significant contribution to the affirmation of financial education among young people and improving their knowledge in the field of finance.
The European Money Quiz is Europe's largest financial literacy quiz aimed at students, attracting millions of players every year on Kahut - a game-based learning platform. The quiz was launched in 2017 as part of the European Banking Federation's financial literacy initiatives, with national competitions becoming a regular activity within national campaigns to mark European Money Week, in March each year. This year, 37,504 teenagers from all over Europe participated at the national level. In the final, the team from Greece won the first place, followed by the teams of Poland and Portugal.
