Through the quality performance of its statistical function, the National Bank continues to contribute to the strengthening of the decision-making process of the economic stakeholders. The National Bank constantly collects, prepares and publishes data in accordance with the international standards, along with the activities for development and upgrading in the individual statistical domains. In this context, it was emphasized that the National Bank for the first time will publish and submit a new set of statistical data on the debt securities indicator. Thus, the National Bank comes within an ace of the complete fulfillment of the indicators that are within its competence, and result from the highest statistical data dissemination standard of the International Monetary Fund - SDDS Plus, which is met only by 29 countries in the world. This was discussed at the meeting between the Director of the IMF Department of Statistics, Albert Kruse and the Governor Anita Angelovska Bezhoska and the Vice Governor Ana Mitreska, held within the Annual Meetings of the IMF and the World Bank.
The National Bank activities were primarily aimed at improving the data in the field of financial accounts, a process supported by the IMF Department of Statistics. For that purpose, the National Bank envisages, in addition to publishing annual statements, to start publishing quarterly data on financial accounts, which will enable availability of more frequent information for policy makers and for understanding the developments in the individual sectors, which may be an indicator of possible economic vulnerabilities.
