“The Denar exchange rate is stable, foreign reserves are at an extremely solid level and we have the capacity and space to maintain the stability of the exchange rate” pointed out the Vicegovernor of the National Bank Ana Mitreska, in the yesterday’s edition of the TV show “Top Tema”.
“The Denar is stable. I would only like to mention that the foreign exchange market and foreign reserves are of key importance for us, given the exchange rate regime we have. All changes in foreign reserves are so far fully in line with our expectations. The level is high, of about euro 3.4 billion, and let me emphasize that it is higher compared to the level we had at the very beginning of the pandemics. In fact, according to all parameters of the reserves that we monitor, they are adequate and are de facto a reflection of our capacity to maintain the stability of the exchange rate”, said the Vicegovernor Mitreska.
She also pointed out that in the report on our economy, the International Monetary Fund clearly and explicitly states that the exchange rate is fully consistent, not only with the economic parameters, but also with the policies we pursue and hence there is absolutely no need to change the exchange rate level.
