The Center for Excellence in Finance (CEF), as an international organization whose mission is to support the capacity development for finance officials in South East Europe, presented the reforms and the results that the National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia (NBRM) has achieved with the activities carried out so far in the area of financial accounts statistics. The NBRM, through the CEF's web platform, shared its experience in this important reform process, from the beginning of these activities in 2007 to the present.
At the end of the last year, after the great commitment to the development of this important segment of the central bank statistics, the NBRM made the initial transmission of financial accounts data to the statistical office of the European Union - EUROSTAT.
This year, the NBRM delivered the statistical data on the financial accounts, flows of the government sector, as well, which are significant input for the EDP notification tables. This was another major step towards fulfilling the EU requirements in the field of statistics, in accordance with the strategic goals of the NBRM.
As emphasized in the CEF story, the NBRM is prepared for further challenges in the development of financial accounts statistics. Providing quality statistical data, fully complied with international and European statistical standards, is one of its strategic commitments, defined also in its Strategic Plan for the next three-year period.
The NBRM is the only central bank whose experience in the field of financial accounts statistics, the CEF affirmed in such a way in front of all its members. This is another confirmation that the NBRM stands out not only as one of the institutions that are driving the reforms of the statistical system of the Republic of Macedonia, but also as one of the regional leaders in the central banking community in the field of central bank statistics.
