The National Bank has successfully carried out the activities related to the first two phases of the component for establishing an external statistics data warehouse that stem from the EU-funded project “Strengthening the capacity of the National Bank to deal with external statistics, and the payment system and statistics”.
The first phase of the EU-funded project activities focused on analyzing the existing situation and preparing a functional specification, while the second phase referred to development of IT solution design and a blueprint document. Next phases of the project will include development, testing and implementation of the new system solution.
The EU-funded project will enable establishment of a modern data warehouse for the purposes of external statistics, improvement of internal work processes through their further digitalization and optimization, higher operational efficiency, and provision of higher-quality, more comprehensive and more easily available statistical data for the public and institutions. At the same time, the EU support is an important contribution to the fulfillment of the obligations in the European integration process and further harmonization with the statistical standards and practices of the European Union.
The EU-funded project for “Strengthening the capacity of the National Bank to deal with external statistics, and the payment system and statistics”, in addition to establishment of a data warehouse for the purposes of external statistics, also includes a component for adoption of the new world standard ISO 20022 in the Macedonian Interbank Payment System (MIPS).
