A record number of participants at the lectures on financial education of the National Bank. In 2021, a total of 102 lectures were given, at which 6,351 participants were present, including students and professors. 70 different schools were involved. The lectures in Macedonian and Albanian were held via the Internet, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, for students from both urban and from rural areas. 

Also, last year, the National Bank prepared several educational materials for financial education, such as educational presentations, texts, videos and infographics, intended for both young people, but also for the adult population.

In the context of a systemic approach to raising the financial literacy in the country, the financial regulators, led by the National Bank, last year adopted and published the first national Strategy for Financial Education and Financial Inclusion. This Strategy is an important step in the further activities for financial education and inclusion in the country. According to the Strategy, the National Bank adopted a Code of Good Practices for Financial Education, which establishes the principles that should be applied in the implementation of the financial education of the population in the country, by all entities from the public, private and civil sector that will be involved in this process. The Code enables a coordinated approach of the activities of both private and civil sector entities. In this regard, there are significant activities for financial education by banks and savings houses, as well as the civil associations that are active in this area, which also in turn contribute to greater financial literacy of the population.

Through a series of activities, the National Bank continues to contribute to raising the financial literacy in the country, because in the modern conditions of a dynamic financial system, financial education becomes increasingly necessary for all ages and for all social strata of the population.
