The National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia issued and put into circulation the collector coins "Alexander", "Anna", "Dmitry" and "Elena" from the "Angel’s Day" series (Official Gazette of the Republic of Macedonia No. 149/15 and 173/15).
The National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia issued and put into circulation the collector coins "Alexander", "Anna", "Dmitry" and "Elena" from the "Angel’s Day" series (Official Gazette of the Republic of Macedonia No. 149/15 and 173/15).
The collector coin "Alexander" has the following features:
- On the obverse, there is an angel leaning over a child at the moment of baptism. There are colorized, gold stars around the angel and three burning candles around the child. In the central part of the coin obverse, there is the coat of arms of the Republic of Macedonia. On the right-hand side, along the perimeter, there are inscriptions: "Republic of Macedonia" and "100 Denars" in the Macedonian language as well as the year of issue "2015".
- On the reverse, in the center of the coin, there is an image of St. Alexander Nevsky, Prince of Novgorod, Grand Prince of Kiev and Grand Prince of Vladimir, one of the greatest Russian heroes in history, proclaimed as a saint of the Russian Orthodox Church in 1547. On the bottom of the coin, there is the Chapel of Saint Alexander Nevsky in Dmitrov (Moscow region – Russia). On the left-hand side, there is a presentation of chestnut’s leaves and fruit – a symbol of the Alexander’s name. On the right-hand side, there is a Swarovsky crystal resembling an alexandrite – Alexander’s lucky stone. Inscriptions: "Alexander" in Macedonian and Russian, "Angel’s Day" (in Macedonian) and the hallmark "Ag 925".
The collector coin "Anna" has the following features:
- On the obverse, there is an angel leaning over a child at the moment of baptism. There are colorized, gold stars around the angel and three burning candles around the child. In the central part of the coin obverse, there is the coat of arms of the Republic of Macedonia. On the right-hand side, along the perimeter, there are inscriptions: "Republic of Macedonia" and "100 Denars" in the Macedonian language as well as the year of issue "2015".
- On the reverse, in the center of the coin, there is an image of St. Anna of Kashin, Russian princess canonized in 1650. On the bottom of the coin, there is the Old Believers Chapel of Saint Anna of Kashin in Mikhailovskaya Sloboda (Moscow Oblast, Ramensky District - Russia). On the right-hand side, there is a presentation of leaves and fruits of rowan – a symbol of Anna’s name. On the left-hand side, there is a Swarovsky crystal resembling a ruby – Anna’s lucky stone. Inscriptions: "Anna" in Macedonian and Russian, "Angel’s Day" (in Macedonian) and the hallmark "Ag 925".
The collector coin "Dmitry" has the following features:
- On the obverse, there is an angel leaning over a child at the moment of baptism. There are colorized, gold stars around the angel and three burning candles around the child. In the central part of the coin obverse, there is the coat of arms of the Republic of Macedonia. On the right-hand side, along the perimeter, there are inscriptions: "Republic of Macedonia" and "100 Denars" in the Macedonian language as well as the year of issue "2015".
- On the reverse, in the center of the coin, there is an image of Dmitry Donskoy (Dmitry of the Don), Prince of Moscow (from 1359) and Grand Prince of Vladimir (1363-1389). His nickname, Donskoy (of the Don River), comes from his victory against the Tatars in the Battle of Kulikovo (1380) which took place on the Don River. At the bottom of the coin, there is the Dmitry Donskoy Chapel in Tyumen (Siberia, Russia). On the right-hand side, there is a presentation of a flower of chrysanthemum – a symbol of the Dmitry’s name. On the left-hand side, there is a Swarovski crystal resembling a lapis lazuli – Dmitry’s lucky stone. Inscriptions: "Dmitry" (in Macedonian and Russian), "Angel’s Day" (in Macedonian) and the hallmark "Ag 925".
The collector coin "Elena" has the following features:
- On the obverse, there is an angel leaning over a child at the moment of baptism. There are colorized, gold stars around the angel and three burning candles around the child. In the central part of the coin obverse, there is the coat of arms of the Republic of Macedonia. On the right-hand side, along the perimeter, there are inscriptions: "Republic of Macedonia" and "100 Denars" in the Macedonian language as well as the year of issue "2015".
- On the reverse, in the center of the coin, there is an image of St. Elena (Saint Helen or Flavia Julia Helena Augusta), the mother of the emperor Constantine the Great. She is an important personality in the history of Christianity due to her major influence on her son and her own contributions in placing Christianity at the heart of Western Civilization. At the bottom of the coin, there is Sts. Constantine and Helen Church in Krivoy Rog. On the left-hand side, there is an image of an ash tree and its flowers – a symbol of the Elena’s name. On the right-hand side, there is a Swarovski crystal resembling a chalcedony – Elena’s lucky stone. Inscriptions: "Elena" (in Macedonian), "Angel’s Day" (in Macedonian) and the hallmark "Ag 925".
These collector coins are made of silver Ag925, weight Ag – 28.28g, fine silver content – 26.16g, in an oval form and dimensions of 30 x 50mm, proof with pad printing and a Swarovski crystal insert, dimension – 2.6mm.
The price of the collector coins "Alexander", "Anna", "Dmitry" and "Elena" is MKD 3,500.00.
The collector coins issued by the National Bank are a legal tender in the Republic of Macedonia.
