The traditional Global Money Week marked in the country with numerous financial education activities for many years, starts tomorrow. As before, in the coming days, the National Bank will carry out activities for raising awareness about the need for greater financial literacy, while promoting the advantages of greater financial inclusion. In fact, as announcement of its activities, yesterday, the National Bank started releasing the series Economy for Everyone, which in a simple language explains terms or phenomena in the field of macroeconomics, finance and banking. With this series, the National Bank ranked itself among central banking institutions that conduct similar activities as part of their efforts for greater education of the population.
The National Bank also started an educational caravan. It invited, and provided transportation for students mainly from rural areas of the country to visit the central bank and other regulatory institutions of the financial system during the Global Money Week. The visit of the National Bank includes educational presentations, age-tailored financial education handouts, as well as visit of the National Bank Museum. Preschool children will also visit the National Bank for the first time in the context of financial education, in the attempt to bring money concept closer to the youngest generations.
The Global Money Week will also include a special event - a national competition within the European Money Quiz, which will be held in our country for the first time. This activity was initiated by the Macedonian Banking Association, and will be launched in cooperation with the National Bank, the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Ministry of Education and Science. The winners of the competition on 27 March will represent the country at the final in Brussels, organized by the European Banking Federation.
The National Bank makes constant efforts to enrich the financial knowledge of the youth as a contribution to capacity building of the generations that will be the main drivers of the future economic and financial flows in our society. During the Global Money Week, the other regulatory institutions of the financial system of the country will also conduct numerous activities for financial education of young people and the population in general.
